Republika Srpska is determined to connect Banjaluka and Belgrade, and with that Belgrade and Sarajevo, by highway as soon as possible, which will further strengthen the cooperation with Serbia, said the Minister of Transport and Communications of RS, Djordje Popovic, adding that the completion of the section from Bijeljina to Raca, of 17 kilometers, was expected to be completed by 2024.

As he underlined, the construction of the sections from Bijeljina to Raca and from Vukosavlje to Brcko is one of the most important infrastructure projects and interests of RS, but also of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Brcko District.

– The section from Bijeljina to Raca is expected to be completed by early 2024. Parallel with this, the bridge on the Raca and border checkpoints will be built. This will contribute a lot to connecting, and the network of highways through RS will certainly gain significance – Popovic said.
