More than a Million Square Meters Under Construction Not Listed in Land Register
The president of the Public Notaries Chamber, Srbislav Cvejic, says for Nova.rs that, in Belgrade alone, there's 1,100,000 square meters of apartments under construction which are invisible in the land register, because they have not been entered into it. Considering the average area of an apartment, this amounts to around 18,330 apartments.
– After issuing the construction permit, in official capacity, the town and the municipality submit the data to the land register, which has an obligation to pre-register the facility, to make it visible, within five work days – he explains.
He adds that the next instance is the Republic Geodetic Authority, where a lot of these requests are waiting.
If the facility is pre-registered after the issuing of the building permit, the registration is quick, as he says, done “at a single click”.
