Serbian Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin announced yesterday that the new Covid hospital being built within the Zemun Ekonomija Military Complex would be open by December 1, the Ministry of Defence stated.

Vulin said that the works are going according to plan, and pointed out that this health facility will have the capacity of 1,000 beds and that the 18,000 m2 complex would be the largest hospital for treating Covid patients in the country.

The owner and General Manager of Termomont d.o.o., the company in charge of construction, Dejan Burcul said that the country has set aside large reserves for the construction of both this hospital and the one located in Krusevac.

– The construction works are going according to plan. We have a deadline till Dec 1. We are aware of out responsibility – in the first place, to our contract, but to our country too. The state has allotted substantial funds for the construction of Batajnica hospital and the hospital in Krusevac. I'm positive that together we will finish the job within that deadline, Burcul said.
