Belgrade to Get Two Public Garages, Investors Obliged to Build 1.7 Parking Spaces per Apartment

The construction of two underground garages starts this year, one in Vlajkoviceva Street, the other in Fruskogorska Street, the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, stated on Friday, August 28.

He said for TV Prva that there were not enough garages in Belgrade, that it was characteristic of all big cities and added that “there are 1.7 cars per family in the capital of Serbia”.

According to him, each year, around 40 to 50 thousand new cars are registered.

Vesic also reminded that the preparation for the construction of underground garages in Skerliceva Street and near “Pinki” was in progress as well and added that, from 2021, the investors would be obliged to provide 1.7 parking spaces per apartments in the city center.


– This covers Stari Grad, Vracar, Savski Venac and the urban parts of Zvezdara and Palilula – Vesic said.
