The CEO of Putevi Srbije, Zoran Drobnjak, said today (March 8, 2010) that that public company lacked 200m EUR to repair all regional and main roads in Serbia.

- There are about 17,000 kilometers of highways, main and regional roads in Serbia, and it would be desirable to have between 2,000 and 3,000 kilometers of roads repaired every year within next five years, which would also cut the costs of their consequent maintenance - Drobnjak said to the press in the Parliament of Serbia.

The Board of Transportation and Communications within the Parliament of Serbia adopted today the business plan for Putevi Srbije for this year, which anticipates that the incomes and expenses of that company should amount to 51.8bn RSD.

Of that amount, 9.6bn RSD are foreign loans, about 7bn RSD will be provided by the Ministry of Finance of Serbia, while the rest are the company's own incomes.

Drobnjak said that major share of expenses concerned the elaboration of projects and technical documentation, expropriation of land and works on Corridor 10.

- So far, of total debt of 30bn RSD to the contractors, the state has paid 22bn RSD, Putevi Srbije paid 2bn RSD, while the rest will be repaid within next five years in six-month installments - said he.
