Egypt will require all visitors to the country to present Polymerase Chain Reaction test results for the new coronavirus on arrival from September 1, the prime minister said in a televised address on Wednesday, Reuters reports.

Until now, there were no special requirements for entry to Egypt.

More than 100,000 tourists have visited Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh since Egypt’s resumption of inbound tourism on July 1, the Ministry of Antiquities and Tourism said on Tuesday, as reported by Ahram Online.

According to the latest data, 163 new cases of infection were registered in the country, with 11 deaths recorded.
