Deadline for legalization of illegally built facilities expires on March 11
Only 16 days are left for the owners of illegally built facilities to submit the applications for legalization to the authorized municipalities. The deadline expires on March 11th and it won't be extended - people in the Ministry of Spatial Planning pointed out and warned that that was the last chance for legalization of illegal facilities.
Number of new submitted applications in Belgrade exceeds 15,000. People in the municipalities that are authorized to legalize buildings of up to 800 square meters say that that number is growing daily. By the way, according to the old law from 2003, total of 136,324 applications for legalization were submitted in the capital city.
Due to increased number of new applications for legalization of facilities, Palilula, Belgrade's borough with the largest territory, is going to open new windows in three locations. As people from this borough explained, about 50 applications have been submitted every day since September 11 when the Law on Planning and Construction was put in effect, and that number is tripled over the last few days.
According to earlier experience of local self-governments, the biggest number of applications is always submitted on the last day, so that "flood" of applications is expected on March 11th.
Since 2003, total of 23,000 applications for legalization were submitted in Novi Sad. The authorized people in this city will announce the number of new applications upon the expiration of the deadline. Since the new law was put in effect, 14 buildings sites in Novi Sad have been closed, while the ban was removed from two sites because the investors collected the building documents in the meantime.
According to the estimates, there are about 30,000 illegally built facilities in Niš. About 20,000 applications for legalization were submitted while the old law was in effect, whereas the number of submitted applications under the new law amounts to about 3,000. There are 4,360 illegal facilities in the municipality of Vladičin Han, and only 800 applications for legalization have been submitted since 2003.
- It is important that the application be submitted to the authorized service prior to the deadline determined by the Law - said the people in the Ministry of Spatial Planning.
