Selzer Group and ASA Group have signed agreements on cooperation under which, in 2021, in Sarajevo, in the municipality of Novi Grad, a factory of transmission system components for hybrid vehicles will open, which will lead to the creation of 300 new jobs.

This business step is a continuation of the activities of ASA Group in cooperation with foreign investors from the automotive industry. The beginning of the production is planned for early 2021, and ASA Group will provide full infrastructure, training and employment of workers, it has been announced on the municipality's website.

– We are glad to be finally able to confirm the cooperation with Selzer Group, which has decided to invest in BiH and chosen ASA Group as a reliable partner for such a step. This is another confirmation of the readiness of the Group to strengthen the local economy through an entrepreneurial vision, provision of top quality services, quality infrastructure and one-stop concept for foreign investors that want to invest in BiH – stated Eldin Hadziselimovic, the director of ASA Group, and added that the fact that a renowned German company was opening production facilities in BiH even during a global crisis was proof of the opportunities offered to the BiH economy.

The signing of the agreement, which took place in front of the new production facility of ASA Group in Rajlovac, was attended by the head of the municipality in whose territory the seat and the production capacities of ASA Group are located, Semir Efendic, which was also an opportunity for the investor to learn about the activities of the local community.

– There are numerous states in Europe, especially in Southeast Europe, which are now fighting to get German investments in the automotive industry. There's great competition between Turkey, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania and some other states, and we are managing to maintain an important place in that competition and finally have our partners decide to invest here and not somewhere else. I am glad that in this difficult time of a pandemic we can announce new jobs and important exporting contracts with the support of ASA Group and to welcome our new investors, Selzer Group. Thanks to a continued cooperation with the members of the Group, ASA Sped and ASA Direkt and the previous implementation of a similar project, we already have over 400 employees in the automotive industry in the Rajlovac location – Efendic pointed out.

The facility in Rajlovac is located on an area of over 5,000 m2, and the installation of equipment and machines, employee training and standardization of processes in line with the requirements of the automotive industry are planned in the first phase.
