Restrictions on entry to Germany are still in effect for the citizens of Serbia, as the country has not yet reached a decision whether to follow the recommendations of the EU and open its borders to countries outside the Union, the Embassy of Germany in Belgrade announced this morning.

The Council of the European Union has adopted the recommendation to lift the temporary restrictions on traveling to the EU for the citizens of 15 countries in the world, Serbia included, from today, but has warned that the implementation of this recommendation is entirely up to each member state.

The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany has not yet decided whether to follow these recommendations, the embassy said on its Facebook page, as reported by Tanjug.

– Accordingly, the restrictions on entry to Germany still apply for the citizens of Serbia. We will inform you about any changes on time, on our website, www.belgrad.diplo.de, or through Facebook – the embassy says.
