The renovated border crossing Vardiste near Visegrad, on the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia, will become fully operational on June 22, 2020, the StartBiH portal reports.
This is an international border crossing for passengers and goods, as reminded in a press release by the Indirect Taxation Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Due to the extremely bad conditions, the reconstruction of the Vardiste border crossing began in November 2019.
– Despite the pandemic caused by COVID-19, the reconstruction went on, with full compliance with the measures of protection and recommendations of the competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina – the press release says.
The total value of the investment was BAM 830,000, and the new border crossing will ensure a better control and a quicker flow of passengers and goods.
