- With the support of USAID and IREX, ABC Srbija organized the seminar on Internet advertising yesterday (January 28, 2010) in hotel Zira. On that occasion, nine lecturers, the leading persons in Internet business in Serbia and Croatia, spoke about their fields of expertise - ABC announced.
The seminar drew big interest of professionals, so that, instead of initially planned 80 participants, it gathered about 150 listeners, while the live broadcast on website www.live-e.tv was provided for all the interested people whose applications ABC Srbija was unable to accept. The recordings of all lectures will be available on this website in the following period, while the presentations of the lecturers are available on www.abcsrbija.com, it is pointed out in the announcement.
According to the words of Milan Kovačević, the CEO of ABC Srbija, the occasion for organization of the seminar was the wish that the advertisers, publishers and owners of websites in Serbia get familiar with both basic rules of functioning of Internet advertising and the benefits it offers in as short time as possible, in order to enable as big flow of money as possible and quicker development of e-operations.
- At this moment, only 2% of total marketing budget are set aside for online advertising in Serbia, which is nothing when compared to global standards. For example, 23.5% of all marketing investments are set aside for Internet advertising in Great Britain – says Kovačević, adding that quick development of Internet market is in the interest of both advertisers and website owners. Online advertising enables efficient conveying of message to the desired target group with relatively small funds.
New web audit system "ABC Srbija" was also presented at the seminar. It is intended for monitoring and verifying the number of visits on websites, that is, forwarding the information to advertisers. The system should be officially put in operation on February 15th, and this additional service will be free of charge for advertisers - members of ABC Srbija.
