Industrial Production in Serbia Drops by 16.6% in April

The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in April 2020 decreased by 16.6% relative to April 2019, while relative to 2019 average, it decreased by 20.8%, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced.

Industrial production in the period January – April 2020 decreased by 0.8% compared to the same period last year.

In April 2020 compared with April 2019, the section of manufacturing dropped by 19.9%, the section of of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply dropped by 9.9%, and the section of mining and quarrying dropped by 0.1%.

The data on industrial production by MIGS in April 2020, compared to April 2019, show that the production of durable consumer goods dropped by 57.4%, of capital goods by 42.7%, of intermediate products, energy excluded, by 20.2%, and of non-durable consumer goods, by 16.5%.


On the other hand, growth was noted in the production of energy, by 2.1%.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for April 2020, compared to 2019 average, indicates 18.2% fall of the overall industrial production and 22.2% fall of manufacturing.

The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for April 2020, compared to March 2020 average, indicates 17.0% fall of the overall industrial production and 20.4% fall of manufacturing.
