Hole for sale for 30,000 GBP

The quarry in Aberdeen, that is, the hole 142 meters deep, is being sold on the open market 150 years after it was "made".

Bixen Ltd., the owner of the hole that is as big as 1,200 Olympic swimming pools, did not want to reveal the details of the sale or to say what the new owner could do with it since it is currently filled with water.

Prior to the quarry's closing in 1971, 6m tons of granite had been taken from it, part of which was used in construction of British Parliament.

- This is one of the oddest jobs I've ever had - to sell a hole - said the sales agent.
