Kraljevo is planning for the Goc mountain to go back to being a mandatory tourist destination, especially when it comes to the young and skiing. In addition to the construction of a new ski-lift on the small track, which is to begin soon, the plan is for the large track to also get a double seat gondola, given by the Ski Resorts of Serbia, as Aleksandar Nestorovic, the director of the building land development PE in Kraljevo, announced for eKapija.

– Last year, we carried out a public procurement procedure with the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication for the reconstruction and equipment of a small track on Goc, which will be around 180 meters long. We have prepared the project and created a track of 350 meters, where a new ski-lift will be built, and we expect the works to start soon – Nestorovic said for our portal.

The contractor for the construction of the new ski lift has been selected, namely, the Kraljevo-based company Amiga, and the works are worth RSD 34.8 million, according to the contract.

According to Nestorovic, the small track should be ready for the upcoming winter season.

However, in addition to the development of the small track, there are also ambitious plans to develop a large one.

– We addressed the Ski Resorts of Serbia as we new there were planning to remove the double-seater from Bela Reka due to the gondola project, which should start in Brzeca. We asked them to give us the double-seater so that we could equip the large ski track, which is around 1,700 meters long. We have received a positive answer. After the repair, we will also reconstruct the large track and try to put the snowing machinery into operation as well – Nestorovic says.

As he says, he expects the large track to be ready for the 2021 season.

– We have invested a lot into the infrastructure on the mountain. We have developed pavilions with 140 beds, a hall and outdoor courts, and there's also a plan to build an adventure park. We want to develop Goc for the younger population, make it a children's mountain – our interviewee said.

Goc is the oldest ski-center in Serbia. After four decades, the Dobre Vode track closed in 2017 and this mountain disappeared from the tourist offer of the Serbian ski-centers.

Let us remind that, according to the General Regulation Plan “Goc”, new tourist features, bungalows, outdoor and indoor pools, as well as sports courts should be built on the mountain. Find out more in a separate article.
