The French company Mecafor, which has been producing components for the aviation industry in Kikinda since 2016, is building a new facility of 3,000 m2 where it will produce aircraft turbines. According to the director of the factory, Nebojsa Nedeljkovic, the facility should be completed in late summer, and the investment is worth EUR 3 million. Another 180 workers will be employed over the next three years.

– Since we initiated the production in Kikinda in 2016, we have doubled the number of employees and we now have over a hundred employees. The new facility will also open new markets for us. So far, we have been working for the aviation industry, truck producers and manufacturers of agricultural mechanization, and the new investment will mark the entry of Mecafor to the aviation industry. By the end of the summer, we expect to complete a new facility, which will take up 3,000 m2, and in the next three years, after the project is finished, we plan to employ another 180 people – said Nedeljkovic, as reported on the city's website.

He added that aircraft turbines will be produced at the future factory and the finishing and machine works will be done there as well.

– During the coronavirus crisis, there's been a drop in the production, but the situation has normalized in the meantime – Nedeljkovic said and added that they were especially proud that Volvo and John Deere were among their clients.
