Contract signed for construction of wind-generators near Pančevo - construction of wind farm to cost 470m EUR
The city of Pančevo and companies Welbury-Bela Anta and Balkan signed the contract yesterday (January 19, 2010) on construction of two wind-generators of 170 MW.
Construction will start in spring 2011 and it represents the beginning of construction of a wind farm at the area between Pančevo and Kovin, which will comprise total of 60 wind-generators.
Construction of the whole park will cost about 470m EUR, which will be provided by aforementioned companies.
Pančevo is obliged by the contract to provide locations and necessary building permits.
- The city will have much benefit from this because it will be getting both ecologically clean energy and 0.5% of gross incomes from the electricity sales within the next 25 years, and all the construction works will be carried out by Pančevo-based companies - Deputy Mayor Dušan Mrvoš said after the contract was signed.
Miodrag Obradović, a representative of Welbury-Bela Anta, said that Pančevo was among the first cities in Serbia to recognize the importance of renewable sources of energy.
- The Protocol on construction was signed in May 2009, but the contract had to wait for the Government of Serbia to pass the Regulation on preferential prices of the manufacturers from the wind energy sector, which was done at the end of 2009 - Obradović added.
- According to the Regulation, the price of 1 kWh of wind-generated electric energy will cost 9.5 euro-cents - said he.Most Important News
