The German companies HDT (electronics) and A2000 (printed circuit boards) are completing their factories in Svilajnac, where a total of 200 workers with high education in technology will be employed.

In late 2019, HDT signed the agreement with the municipality and bought land in the Free Zone. It is now finishing a 2,000-m2 factory where it will employ 100 workers no later than this summer, the president of the municipality of Svilajnac, Predrag Milanovic, explained for Tanjug.

In the second Industrial Zone, A2000 is building its factory of more than 1,000 square meters, where the production will start in the second half of the current year and where 100 workers will be employed, Milanovic said and noted that A2000 had bought a hectare of land in this Industrial Zone.

Panasonic, Ariston and Vossloh Schwabe have factories in Svilajnac, and they are being joined by the Swiss Regent.

– With these brands, Svilajnac has shown that it is ready and capable for big projects and serious investors – Milanovic said.

– During the state of emergency in Serbia, no investor in Svilajnac laid off any workers and the production didn't stop. This says that the economy of Svilajnac has strong foundations – Milanovic added.
