A facility for preparation and processing of drinking water will be built in Backi Monostor, and the value of this project is around RSD 67.7 million without VAT. The Provincial Secretary has provided RSD 20 million through a contest, whereas the rest of the funds will be provided by the City of Sombor, the press release says.

The project envisages the assembly and construction of a facility for preparation and processing of drinking water, and the equipment at the facility will be based on a “closed” filtration system (sand filters), the process of water disinfection with sodium hypochlorite and the filtration of filter-washing waste water.

The equipment to be used at the facility for preparation and processing of drinking water in Backi Monostor will also feature a technical solution for the problem of the waste waters which are a byproduct of the filter washing process, so as to prevent environmental pollution and jeopardizing the sanitary protection zone, that is, “no drop of water will be lost in the technological process of filtration, but be reused in the filtration cycle,” the city authorities say.
