According to the data of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, at one moment, there were around 125,000 workers on annual leaves in Serbia as part of the measures to counter coronavirus, and around 20,000 have now returned to their jobs, the assistant director for strategic analyses of the CCIS, Bojan Stanic, said today.

He added that around 1.6 thousand companies had been forced to stop producing, or bring the production activities to a minimum, but that the trend was slowly changing.

Stanic said that, within the possibilities, conditions should be created for people to go back to work in large numbers and that the functioning of the public transport should be expanded. He added that the activation of intercity transport and the liberalization of the issuing of permits should be considered as well.

He added that the manufacturing industry should be reactivated as soon as possible.
