Around 10,000 workers in Slovenian companies, stores and services are to start working again today, after a weeks-long ban due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Of the larger companies, Gorenje Hisense, a manufacturer of home appliances, and Adria Mobil, a producer of camping trailers and vacation houses, will relaunch their activities.
According to the government's order, car mechanics, tire shops, larger construction sites and construction materials and home appliances stores, can work as well.
The Chamber of Commerce has warned that the employers are responsible for the safety of operations and that they need to organize work in line with the guidelines provided by the National Institute for Public Health.
The trade unions have appealed to health authorities to once again specify the instruction in order to ensure the health of the workers, instead of taking risks favoring the capital. They have invited the government to, if necessary, temporarily stop all the activities not necessary for the functioning of the state.
According to the government's data, the number of new infections is dropping. Of the 554 people tested this Sunday, only seven were positive. The total number of the infected is 1,212, a total of 55 people have died and 152 people have been cured.
