Some hotels in Vienna are offering an alternative for people who work from home and who don't have enough room or enough peace to do so comfortably.

Although hotels are closed for tourists, employees who can't work from home due to the nature of their job, people without a permanent place of residence and business people can stay at hotels. The same applies to employees who have no adequate conditions for working from home.

For example, opera singer Megan Katz uses a hotel room for several hours at a time.

– I need space to rehearse. I live in a residential building and, although my neighbors are very understanding, they now all work from home and I can't bother them – she said.

Manager Anna Fechter lives in a small apartment with her partner, an IT employee.

– It's difficult when I have to make phone calls or attend meetings on Skype – Anna explains.

At the moment, 20 hotels in Vienna offer Home Office rooms. This doesn't bring much income to hotels, but it's important that they can at least earn something.

Before the outbreak of coronavirus, the capacities in Vienna were 80-90% full, says the press release by the Vienna City Office in Belgrade.

Restaurants, hotels and other related facilities should start reactivating gradually in May. Previously, additional evaluation of the diseases and infected needs to be carried out by the end of April.
