From March 17, 2020, all public notary offices in Serbia are operating at a decreased capacity, in line with the recommendations of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia during the state of emergency due to coronavirus.

As said in the press release by the Chamber of Public Notaries of Serbia, public notary offices will be open each working day from 9 am to 5 pm, but will not authorize signatures, manuscripts and transcripts, except in emergency cases. In such cases, the parties need to file a pertinent request with an explanation to the office electronically or by regular mail.

Public notaries will continue carrying out the activities of the solemnization of contracts and preparation of notarial deeds and records, if the parties do not belong to the category of persons under special protection.

The recommendation for all offices is to schedule such activities within at least one hour of each other, to receive the documentation electronically whenever possible and to allow access exclusively to the parties taking part in the procedure.
