The Hungarian low-cost airline company Wizz Air has suspended the flights on the Podgorica-Milan line until April 2.

The decision was made due to the measures adopted by the Ministry of Health of Montenegro aiming to prevent the spreading of coronavirus in the country.

– The passengers who reserved their flights for that period will be automatically notified and offered alternative routes as soon as possible – the company announced, as reported by the RTCG portal.

The passengers who reserved their tickets directly at wizzair.com or through the airline's app will be notified by email and offered a free reservation, a full refund or a credit at the airline for future flights in the amount of 120% of the value of the purchased ticket.

Previously, flights from Montenegro to Milan and Bologna were halted, and the Ministry of Health imposed a temporary ban on travel to and from Montenegro at the suggestion of the Public Health Institute due to the epidemic in Italy's north.

The director general of the Public Health Directorate at the ministry, Miro Knezevic, said that the ban aimed to prevent the disease from entering Montenegro and other states.
