Government accepted Anđelko Trpković's letter of resignation

- At the phone meeting on Friday night (December 11, 2009), the Government of Serbia accepted the irrevocable letter of resignation submitted by the CEO of the Belgrade Fair, Anđelko Trpković - people from the Government's Office for Media Relations told Tanjug.

After spending five years in the position of the CEO of the Fair, Trpković submitted the letter of resignation on Tuesday, December 8th.

- I have made the decision after I was introduced to the decisions of the Presidency of the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO), of which member I used to be and I assumed the position of CEO of the Belgrade Fair at that party`s suggestion - Trpković explained in the written statement to Tanjug.

He explained that, according to the party's decisions, "the appointed people are expected to represent the positions and consistently implement the decisions of the party organs".

- Since I made the decision in January 2008 and informed the party`s management that I was not going to take active part in the party's work, I am of the opinion that, as an appointed person, I should resign - Trpković pointed out.

He also said that he was very satisfied with the fact that the Belgrade Fair had earned back its reputation and status of the most significant company of the kind in the Balkans.

- Even in this year that was very difficult for business, the Belgrade Fair will register increase in turnover and the profit of over 2m EUR - he added.
