Woolworths uses AI to weigh fruit and vegetables in stores in Australia
The device is very easy to use, as the purchaser puts the items on the machine without a plastic bag. It takes a few seconds for the device to recognize the shape and the variety and it is sophisticated enough to tell peaches from nectarines. It then weighs the fruit or the vegetables and ends the process.
So far, this technology is only available in three Woolworths supermarkets in Sydney, where it is being tested. The device was developed by Tiliter.
