"Securitas" bought another company in Serbia - "Gordon security" entered the group

By purchasing company SCP International on December 2nd, 2008, Swedish company Securitas AB "sailed into" the market of Serbia and, on that occasion, Bart Adam, the President of "Securitas Services Europe", said to the press:

"Last year we adopted the strategy, according to which the company that is already the leader in the USA and Europe should significantly expand its operations in South America, Asia and East Europe. Why Serbia? Because we have estimated it is the country with big potentials and promising economic prospects." (taken from daily newspaper Blic, December 2008).

Securitas is today present in over 40 countries of the world and the growth trend continues. With 240,000 employees, "Securitas" is one of the global leaders among the companies that provide security services.

After the successful business year in Serbia, in spite of the global economic crisis, Securitas acquired another company from Serbia today (December 9, 2009) - "Gordon security", which provides services in the field of private security.

"Gordon" Ltd. is the company that became a member of the Securitas family today. It was founded in 1991 as the first private company in former Yugoslavia that provides the services of physical-technical and fire security and protection of persons and property. Thanks to its long experience and practice, "Gordon" has earned a high reputation and prestigious position in the security market.

Company "Gordon" has about 1,100 employees. It owns the License for security jobs and industrial safety, and it also has the established quality management system JUS-ISO 9001:2001. The services it provides concern: physical security, technical protection, monitoring, fire security and transportation of money and values.

The estimate is that there are about 220 companies that provide the private security services in Serbian market, and that the number of employees in these companies amounts to about 46,000.

It is for certain that, following this acquisition, Securitas will strengthen its position in the market of security services in Serbia.
