The PE Beogradski metro i voz has opened a public invitation for the preparation of a geotechnical study for the purposes of a preliminary design for the construction of the first phase of the Belgrade Subway system.

As said in the contest documentation, based on the Preliminary Feasibility Study with the General Project, two Belgrade Subway lines are defined. The study analyses the options for the construction of both lines in phases.

The length of Line 1 is 21.2 km with 22 stops. The study of the engineering and geological and geotechnical requirements, which is the subject of this public procurement procedure, pertains to the first phase of the construction of Line 1 of the Belgrade Subway, from the Zeleznik station to the Karaburma station, with a length of 16.7 km and 17 stops.

The first phase entails 2.3 km of a ground section with 3 stops, 2.8 km of a cut-and-cover section with 2 stops and 11.6 km of a deep underground section – a tunnel (TBM, NATM) with 12 stops.

– The main purpose of the documentation is to define the state and the characteristics of the terrain and the rock formations, as well as the conditions that will be created on the terrain upon the realization of the subway system, based on which geotechnical conditions and recommendations for the construction of the future subway line for the Preliminary Design will be defined – the text of the tender reads.

The documentation should cover the terrain with the main route and corridor of a width of 100 m (50 m on each side of the axis). An analysis of the results of all the existing geological surveys within the corridor of the first phase of the first subway line, as well as all the documentation dealing with similar terrains, should be carried out for the purposes of the preparation of the geotechnical documentation.

Eligible tenderers are all those that meet the requirements defined in the public invitation. The criterion is the lowest price offered.

The bid submission deadline is February 25, at 11.30 am, and the public opening will take place on the same date, beginning at noon.
