VINCI Airports publishes operating results for 2019 – Number of passengers at Nikola Tesla Airport higher by 9.2%
The company operates airports in 12 countries, with 255 million passengers served in 46 airports and 325 new routes opened in 2019, an increase by 5.7% from 2018.
In a press release, the company emphasizes that passenger traffic at a number of airports operated by VINCI Airports reached symbolic milestones in 2019: 50 million passengers at the Kansai airports; 30 million at Lisbon; and 6 million at Belgrade.
According to the press release, the year’s highlight was the integration of London Gatwick, in which VINCI Airports acquired a majority shareholding of 50.01%.
The Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is becoming one of the region’s most dynamic airports, with passenger traffic up 9.2% in 2019. The increase in the fourth quarter amounted to 15.6%. This good performance reflects, among other things, the opening of 13 new international routes, the company says.
The beginning of the works on the extension and renovation of the Belgrade Airport has been announced as well. According to VINCI, it will begin this year.
