New tender for design upgrade and construction of the underground garage at Students Square
As Everston told eKapija, the second public call is published a month after the first one fell through since the companies that sent their bids failed to comply with tender requirements.
– Four companies, two from Serbia and two from China with branches in Serbia, submitted bids in the previous procedure but haven’t met the tender requirements, Everston stated.
Like in the first bidding procedure, the object of the project is the garage located at Students Square with three underground levels a total floor area of about 21,000m2. T here will be about 689 parking spaces in the parking lot after completion.
Deadline for submitting bids is February 10, 2020.

Back in June 2019 the City of Belgrade signed the concession agreement with China Shandong International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co. Ltd. a for the design, financing, building, management, maintenance and transfer of four underground garages in the territory of Belgrade.
Let us remind that the Chief urbanist of the City of Belgrade previously said that there's a chance the area on the Students Square planned for the underground garage may contain remains of the central part of the ancient city Singidunum, In that case, the construction will be terminated and transferred elsewhere.
