Serbia has completed the laying down of the pipes for its section of the TurkStream gas pipeline. The pipes of the National Main Gas Pipeline, a new alternative supply source for the whole Balkans, have been laid down through Serbia, RTS reports.

Gas will be delivered from TurkStream through Bulgaria, Serbia and further to Hungary, through this pipeline, and further works on the gas infrastructure are being prepared.

The director of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, told RTS that 403 kilometers of pipes within the TurkStream gas pipeline had been laid down in Serbia.

– The whole route has been bored through, beneath the Danube, the Tisa, the Morava, all the canals... the pipes have been connected. We expect to complete the works on the measuring station – Bajatovic said.

As he added, Serbia will have three exits from the pipeline – near Paracin, Belgrade and Zrenjanin, and the connection to the Banatski Dvor gas storage remains to be built.
