After the factories in Prokuplje, Milosiste and Nis, Kraljevo is the fourth city in Serbia where Leoni is completing the construction of a modern factory, where 5,000 workers will be employed by the end of 2023.
These days, the Leoni facility in Ratarsko Imanje in Kraljevo is teeming with activity, including the factory halls, where around 600 workers are already active, but also the surrounding area. The access road, Jovana Deroka Street, has been expanded, a pedestrian zone has been developed, along with parking lots and other necessary facilities. More than 200 workers from several construction companies and other companies are carrying out the final works on the accompanying infrastructure. The construction of a ring road on the Ibar main road, near the factory, is in progress, and a road is also being built that would connect the Ibar main road with the recently reconstructed overpass and Jovana Deroka Street near the water tower.
As the mayor of Kraljevo, Predrag Terzic, previously promised, this fully complies with the dynamics of changing the urban plan and other obligations the city took upon itself in realizing this capital investment on 60,000 m2, which is very important for Kraljevo and the region, but also the whole Serbia.
The training of new workers is currently being held in Nis, Prokuplje and Romania and, as the managing director of Leoni, Clemens Sachs, promised during his visit to Kraljevo in September 2018, serial production should start at this factory, worth EUR 60 million, in early 2020.
