Directorate for Agrarian Payments to transform into payment agency
– We are actively working on achieving that goal, as we need a payment agency which is properly equipped with the technology and the workforce to close this very important negotiation chapter and prepare to carry out the Common Agricultural Policy of the EU, primarily the first item, which pertains to direct payments in agriculture – Petrovic said.
According to her, as a payment agency, this institution would have a greater degree of independence and efficiency, but also be more present in the field through regional offices which are planned in several towns in Serbia.
She also said that five IPARD public calls had been carried out until then, with 736 applications sent and 118 agriculturists already paid.
