New, redesigned EKO Smile card – Awarding loyalty and following digital trends

Exactly a year ago, EKO Serbia presented a new, improved Smile loyalty card within its system of gas stations, through which it awarded its clients' loyalty.

For this company, the entire year 2019 was a year of introducing new features to the Smile loyalty program, which has been awarding drivers in Serbia for several years now. The innovations in the program have introduced some new benefits, available to all clients at EKO gas stations. The digitization of the card has also introduced other functions in the app, which enable drivers to follow their transactions, new gift offers, to share points with their friends, block the card themselves in case it disappears, but also to follow the news about the program.

The new web portal and digital platform enable EKO Serbia to additionally award its users and present them with all the offers created especially for them more easily. Several times over the year, members of the Smile club are notified about how to get bonus points, and an additional surprise awaits all EKO Smile app users at the very end of 2019.

Drivers have quickly noticed all the advantages of the new card, as points can now be collected more easily and quickly! The card is issued with three accompanying mini cards which come in the form of a key pendant. This way, the card enables a whole family or a group of friends to collect points together. All smartphone users can also apply for the club online through a unique QR code. By installing the EKO Smile app, when visiting gas stations, users can use a smartphone instead of a card to collect points and get gifts.

The EKO Smile program, founded in 2013, now has over 550,000 registered users, who have taken over more than 1,200,000 gifts in the past years thanks to the points collected with the Smile card. Active card users had the opportunity to replace their old cards with new ones in 2019 and enjoy the new offer created in response to the trends and the drivers' needs.

A large number of drivers who collect 1,000 points over three months, individually or with someone else, can enjoy the Premium status, which means more points for each liter, double points in mini markets at EKO gas stations, but also concrete gifts in each quarter. Premium Smile users had the opportunity to take over gifts through gift vouchers in 2019. The gifts included tire changing vouchers, on-road help and a multifunctional pendant-knife. The new qualification period for acquiring the Premium status is December 1, 2019, when the users can also expect new surprise gifts.


EKO Serbia will continue following its vision, which is constant investing in improving the services and the quality of the gas station network and constant care for safety and people, along with maintaining competitiveness and innovations, as this is something that EKO consumers are used to.

Each fuel purchase or purchase made at the mini markets at EKO gas stations brings points on the Smile card, which can then be exchanged for suitable gifts from the catalog. The catalog with a varied offer of gifts is printed twice a year, but there are more and more users who are following all the new features and their point status, as well as how many points they need in order to get an award, online.

The new Smile card can be obtained at all 56 EKO gas stations in Serbia. The variety of the gifts and experiences that the visit to EKO gas stations brings justifies the EKO mission – Something new every time.
