Hunched back, pale skin, red eyes, varicose veins – What average office worker might look like in the future
“Emma” is a model which illustrates certain problems which can be expected in employees in the future.
Her back is permanently hunched due to long hours of sitting, her leg muscles are much weaker, she has varicose veins due to poor blood circulation and her eyes are red and moist due to the bad air.
She is overweight and has pale skin due to lack of sunlight. The dust in the office causes her to have more nose- and ear-hair, as well as a swollen nose.
Everything is now up to employers, experts say, after analyzing 303 employees in France, Germany and Great Britain.
They should provide more and longer breaks for employees, organize meetings under the “walk and talk” principle, incite creative work and have employees avoid using computers and keyboards whenever possible.
