City of Kraljevo to propose launching of air services to Frankfurt, Munich and Nuremberg from Morava Airport

The Government of Serbia will subsidize airline carriers selected at the opened tender for flights from the Morava Airport near Kraljevo.

Around EUR 5.7 million will be set aside from the state budget for those purposes for a three-year program, and more about this can be found in a separate article.

The City of Kraljevo has already selected the cities it will propose as destinations available at the airport in Kraljevo.

– We will propose Frankfurt, Munich and Nuremberg in Germany, and the flights would be operated by the airline carriers to be selected at the government's tender. Frankfurt and Munich are large industrial, financial and transport centers, not just for Germany, but for all of Europe. Plenty of Serbs work there, and Nuremberg is the seat of Leoni, which is building a factory of wiring systems for the automotive industry in Kraljevo, where more than 5,000 workers will be employed by the end of 2023 – said Predrag Terzic, the mayor of Kraljevo.

An agreement on the launching of air services to Vienna three times a week beginning with December and to Thessaloniki at the same frequency in the summer season, from the Morava Airport, was reached previously.

According to the mayor of Kraljevo, the Morava Airport will considerably contribute to accelerating the economic development of Kraljevo and many other neighboring towns and municipalities, and the construction of the Morava Corridor will fully justify its existence and operations.
