- The project anticipates about 30m EUR worth of grants for six cities in Serbia - Ms. Daić told Beta agency.

As she pointed out, the first phase of the project is completely financed from that donation, while 30% of the funds for the second phase will be provided by the Government of Germany, and the rest of the costs will be covered by KfW Bank.

According to her words, that project is granted for Vranje, Pirot, Leskovac, Aleksinac, Trstenik and Jagodina.

The mayors and directors of water supply companies in these cities will sign the letter of intent on October 28th in Belgrade with the Minister of National Investment Plan, Verica Kalanović, and the representatives of KfW Bank.

- Realization of the first phase of the project, which includes institutional support and elaboration of the feasibility study, will start as soon as the letter of intent is signed - said Ms. Daić.

She pointed out that such projects were already being implemented in eight municipalities in Serbia, and that about 45m EUR had been invested in them.

Realization of the projects is in progress in Sombor, Vršac, Pančevo, Sremska Mitrovica, Šabac, Loznica, Smederevo and Kraljevo. The first phase is already completed, and the next phase of the project starts in March 2010.
