“Serbia can offer higher subsidies than others to Volkswagen” - German company says it is not looking for alternative locations for new plant
– We will give it our best. Serbia is not an EU state like Bulgaria and Romania and we don't have a large market like Turkey – Vucic told TV Pink in Vranjska Banja.
He explained that there were technical problems related to the fact that Serbia is not an EU state, but that the country could still offer the kind of subsidies others couldn't.
Volkswagen: We are not looking for alternative locations for the new plant
Volkswagen is not scouting for alternative locations as it evaluates plans to build a new car factory in Turkey, Andreas Tostmann, VW’s production chief, told journalists in a call on Tuesday, Reuters writes.
Earlier this month, the German carmaker said it had postponed a decision to build a car plant in Turkey in the wake of international criticism of the country’s military operations in Syria.
– We are watching developments. Plans for Turkey are currently on hold. We are not actively looking at alternative locations – Tostmann said.
