Company "ABB Srbija", one of European leaders in production of equipment for power supply and automatics, organized the premiere presentation of its new product "ACS 2000" at the Energy Fair (October 15-17, 2009) in Belgrade.

"ACS 2000" is a mid-voltage frequency regulator, and it represents an innovation in this market, primarily due to its easy connection and installation, as well as because it enables easier control of mid-voltage engines.

- I hope that "ACS 2000" will be accepted by the people in Serbian market, and that all of its advantages will be used, including good factor of power, possibility of connection of common engines that are not made especially for frequency regulator, as well as possibility of its connection to mid-voltage grid without transformer – Milan Jevremović, the Product Manager of company "ABB Srbija", told "eKapija".

This regulator will be available to the people in Serbian market in few days. Namely, it will appear in the markets of 12 to 15 European countries, including Serbia, after the meeting in Switzerland where the headquarters of company "ABB" is situated and that product is being manufactured.

So far, it has been promoted only in six Central European countries.

When asked about the experience of users from those countries, Jevremović said that "ACS 2000" already functioned well in Switzerland and Poland. One such regulator has been in use in a cement factory in Switzerland for 6 to 7 months now, and the reactions are positive.

- We call this regulator the general-purpose regulator because it is suitable for, practically, all applications, especially pumps, fans, compressors, etc. However, we do not cut down its use only to that because it can also be used on conveyor belts, mills, and for some more complex applications, primarily because it has patented "ABB" moment control system, so-called"Direct Torque Control" (DTC).

The price has not been determined yet, but they say that it will be favorable to our market. People in company "ABB" hope that the product will be interesting in Serbia because of its appearance and easy installation and use. It is compact and should be available and profitable for the user because it would save him much energy since its power factory is always 1.

Company "ABB Srbija" was founded in 1990, and it started to operate as local company that is 100% owned by "ABB Group" in 2004.

"ABB Group" was created through the merger of two companies "ASEA" from Sweden and "BBC" from Switzerland in 1988.
