Subotica has finally managed to obtain one of the empty barracks, which were left nearly ten years ago, after the reorganization, by the Army of Serbia and Montenegro at the time. In that way, the city got the land where formation of new industrial zone is going to start soon. This procedure of transfer of rights on military property to the city of Subotica lasted for years, and the Government of Serbia has just recently approved of the exchange of property between the Ministry of Defense and the city of Subotica.

Subotica now has the right to use the properties within the military complex on Karađorđev road, at total surface of 1.94 ha, while the local self-government has transferred the right on use of five apartments at total surface of 260 square meters in Trogirska Street to the Ministry of Defense in return.

The property has been appraised by the Tax Administration, and that procedure has been canceled and redone several times, which is also the reason why the exchange of properties has been postponed on several occasions. According to the finally accepted appraisal, the market value of the military complex amounts to 8.438m RSD.
