DINKIĆ: Horgoš-Dimitrovgrad highway section to be finished prior to spring 2012

The Minister of Economy, Mlađan Dinkić, announced on October 16th that the construction of Horgoš-Dimitrovgrad highway section on Corridor 10 should be finished prior to spring 2012.

Dinkić said that the works that should be carried out in that period were the works on construction of part of Leskovac-Macedonian border road, without the section through Grdelica gorge, as well as the works on Belgrade-Lajkovac highway.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Corridor 10 through Serbia is 835 km long, about 300 km of which should be built. The estimated value of works that should be carried out in the period 2008 - 2011 is 1.6 billion EUR.

Dinkić said that the priority in public investments was given to traffic infrastructure and energy.

- State's investments in the energy sector will include construction of new hydroelectric power plants on the Danube and the Drina and development of renewable energy sources - said Dinkić.
