Larger number of active mobile telephony connections in Montenegro

- There were 1.4m active mobile telephony connections in Montenegro at the end of September, which is 1.6% more than in August - the Agency for Electronic Communications in that country announced.

Montenegro has 620,000 citizens and 2.2 telephone connections per capita.

The share of postpaid subscribers, which pay their bills at the end of the month, exceeds 20%, while 1.1m people are pay-as-you-go users.

The leader in the mobile telephony market in Montenegro is company "Promonte" from "Telenor Group", with the market share of 36.92%.

The market share of company T-Mobile, a member of "Deutsche telecom", is 33.7%, while the share of company "M:tel", which is a part of "Telekom Srbije", amounts to 29.38%.

Total of 98m SMS messages were sent in September from all three networks in Montenegro, which is 18% less than in August. The biggest number of messages, 48.17%, was sent by "M:tel" subscribers.
