New delivery app Glovo available in Serbia

A new app Glovo, which enables the ordering and delivery of food, gifts, flowers, pharmaceutical products and even documents, has been available in the territory of Belgrade since June 2019, and the plans of this Spanish startup also include Novi Sad and Nis, eKapija was told at the event held on Wednesday, October 9, at the ICT Hub.

This multifunctional app, which enables access to the best restaurants, supermarkets, stores and pharmacies, was founded in Barcelona in 2015. They are planning the penetration of the Southeast European region, so they will work on expanding their business operations, both in Europe and in Serbia, in the upcoming period.

– At the moment, we are only present in Belgrade, but, depending on the upcoming period, we will definitely take into consideration other cities as well, such as Novi Sad and Nis. We currently cooperate with KFC, Agi Pasta, Pizzagram, and we are negotiating with some other potential partners as well – Victor Racariu, the regional director at Glovo for Central and Eastern Europe, told eKapija.

According to Aditya Phulwani, the manager for market expansion and development, the operations of Glovo are only just starting, but what sets them apart is the speed, as deliveries are made within 45 minutes.

– Employees at Glovo use cars, bicycles, scooters. Depending on the distance, the weather and the traffic, our employees use what's most practical. We currently have eight employees in the team, and the total number, including the suppliers and the associates, is around 300 – Phulwani said for eKapija.

The Glovo app is present in 247 towns and 26 countries worldwide. Glovo cooperates with a network of over 36,000 active couriers, does business with over 20,000 partners throughout the world and makes over 40 million deliveries a year.
