Mayekawa SRB factory opens in Smederevo – Jobs for up to 300 workers
The idea of raising a factory in Smederevo originated with Shin Mayekawa, the owner of the Mayekawa company, and is based on 25 years of cooperation with the Smederevo-based company Klima, it was announced on the website of the Serbian HVAC&R Society.
This local company was founded back in 1993 and is the authorized distributor and service provider for the products of the European branch of Mayekawa.
Mayekawa also insisted for Zikica Andrejevic, the owner of Klima, to be the director of the new company. That's how this new factory was formed, which is not a branch of the Japanese company, but a fully Serbian company.
Thirty-eight workers work at the new Mayekawa SRB factory, and the number of employees is expected to grow to 250-300 soon. The new factory will be selling its products in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Mayekawa operates on all continents.
Jasna Avramovic, the mayor of Smederevo, who was the honorary guest at the opening ceremony, had provided great help in choosing the location and obtaining all the necessary permits.
– If the workers are satisfied with the working conditions and the earnings, they will work as if working for themselves, and the production will be of high quality. That's how things are at Klima and that's how they will be at Mayekawa SRB, where I'm also the director – Andrejevic stated before the official opening of the factory.
The factory's opening was marked by the planting of several Japanese cherry trees, and the guests were also welcomed by the Japanese Ambassador to Serbia, Junichi Maruyama, who expressed his satisfaction with the continuation of the traditionally successful cooperation between the two nations.
