Gazprom Neft confirms interest in Petrohemija Pancevo

Gazprom Neft is interested in taking part in the privatization of Petrohemija Pancevo, as confirmed by the Chairman of the Management Board of the Russian company, Alexander Dyukov, in a conversation with the Serbian Mining Minister, Aleksandar Antic.

They had a sidebar conversation during the 9th International Gas Forum in Saint Petersburg, the Ministry of Mining and Energy announced.

Antic said that the future of Petrohemija was very important and that it needed a strategic partner for investments, which should secure the company's long-term stable operations.

Dyukov emphasized that Gazprom Neft had a potential interest in taking part in finding an adequate modality of the privatization of Petrohemija, and, as announced, it was agreed for the Government of Serbia and the company to intensify the talks about Petrohemija and make them more concrete.

The realization of the current project was analyzed at the meeting, primarily the Deep Processing project (the modernization of the Pancevo Refinery), which is important for the entire oil sector, and which will ensure NIS' staying a leader in the demanding regional market of oil products.

It was agreed that additional efforts needed to be made for NIS, a joint company between the Government of Serbia and the Russian Gazprom, which has an impact on Serbia's whole economy, to make even better results, in line with the expectations of both stakeholders.
