Manufacturer of optical glasses for eyeglasses "Grossoptic" to export its products to Russia
Miroslav Čučković, a member of the City Council, visited company "Grossoptic" in Umka yesterday (October 13, 2009). This is the largest brownfield investment in Belgrade in this year, worth 500,000 EUR.
"Grossoptic" deals with production of optical glasses for eyeglasses, contact lenses, sunglasses, eyeglass frames and diagnostic instruments, as well as with distribution of equipment for optical stores. The company comprises four enterprises with 270 employees. "Grossoptic" exports its products to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Italy, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Croatia, while the export of major share of products to Russia should start on January 1st, 2010.
As the largest company in this field in East Europe, "Grossoptic" has also bought and reorganized the facility of former textile factory "Zelengora", which was in bankruptcy. In that way, the company acquired the main building at 10,500 square meters and auxiliary buildings at another 8,000 square meters, while entire complex occupies the space of about 4.5 ha.
