3.4 million tourists in Serbia in 2018, half of them foreigners

In 2018, a total of 3.43 tourists were registered in Serbia, of them 1.71 million foreign guests, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced on the occasion of the World Tourism Day, September 27.

Belgrade saw the most guests, accounting for 33.8% of the total number of tourists and as much as 56.8% of the total number of foreign tourists.

Three traditional music festivals – Exit, Guca and Belgrade Beer Fest, attracted a total of around 950,000 guests last year. The majority of them, 520,000, attended the Belgrade Beer Fest, Guca saw 230,000, and Exit was visited by 198,000 guests, as shown by the data of the Statistical office.


According to the same source, last year, tourists made 9.33 million overnight stays, of which 3.65 million by foreigners.

Of the foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were made from the guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina (7.2%), followed by those from Montenegro (5.7%), China (4.9%) and Croatia and Turkey (4.8% each), as shown by the official statistics.
