- The Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) plans realization of large investments, such as construction of a steam power plant with the installed power of about 2,000 MW, new production systems in coal mines for production of over 10m tons of coal per year, hydroelectric power plants with the power of over 500 MW, as well as revitalization of production systems - said the Director General of EPS, Dragomir Marković, at the ceremonious meeting of the Administrative Board of the company on the occasion of the 6th of October - the Day of EPS.

He said that, due to debts to EPS, major share of Serbia's economy sector was deccelerating development of the company, and he pointed out that EPS needed support of the state through realistic valuation of the price of electricity. The Minister of Energy and Mining, Petar Škundrić, said that over 9 billion EUR would be invested in the power supply sector within the next five to seven years. He pointed out that the state should remain the majority owner of EPS.
