In the first six months, investors from 82 countries made investments in Montenegro, amounting to a net sum of EUR 227.3 million, as announced by the Montenegrin Central Bank. That is around 50% more than in the same period last year.

– The total gross inflow of foreign direct investments amounted to EUR 374.7 million, as EUR 147.4 million left the country, an outflow 41% lower than in the same period of 2018 – the Central Bank told Pobjeda, as reported by CdM.

As said, this investment trend is the result of an increase in ownership investments, accompanied by lower outflows compared to 2018. Investments from a large number of countries indicate, the Central Bank believes, a high regional diversification of the inflow of foreign direct investments.

Investors from Azerbaijan invested the most, followed by those from Hungary, Russia, the Netherlands, B&H, Serbia, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Croatia.

It is added that these are mostly ownership investments.
