Contest for preliminary design for Danube bridge in Novi Sad opens – Works to be submitted by October 31, 2019

The City Department for Building Land and Investments of Novi Sad has opened the Urban Planning and Architectural Contest for a preliminary design of the bridge on the Danube, to be built on the existing columns of the former Franz Joseph Bridge.

Let us remind that the contest was announced this June.

The subject of the contest is the preparation of a preliminary design of a bridge, a tunnel and access routes for pedestrians and cyclists on both sides of the Danube, the documentation reads. The contest aims to revitalize a part out the former rail route, in order to connect the recreation zone of the wharf on the Novi Sad side and the levee on the Petrovaradin side.

The works also entail landscaping, establishing green areas and designing the lighting within the area covered.

The final deadline for the submission of works is October 31, 2019, at 10 am. The works will be opened on the same date. The deadline for the jury is November 25, and the results of the contest will be announced within five days of the reaching of the decision.

There are three awards at this contest, four (1st prize), two and a half (2nd prize) and one million dinars (3rd prize). A design can be bought for RSD 200,000.
