Diaspora in Sweden bought complex around facility of Serbian Orthodox Church in Goetheborg
- Serbian Diaspora in Sweden has bought the complex around
the Church of Stefan Dečanski in Goetheborg, which will serve as a Serbian
cultural-spiritual center – the Ministry of Diaspora of Serbia announced on
September 26th.
This multifunctional cultural center at 3,000 square meters cost 740,000 EUR,
and the Serbs from Diaspora collected the money by voluntary contributions.
The Church of Stefan Dečanski is the largest temple of Serbian Orthodox Church
in Scandinavia.
The complex around the Church comprises a kindergarten, a banquet room, classrooms and a large hall for cultural-artistic events.
There are about 70,000 Serbs and 25 Serbian organizations in Sweden, mainly in Stockholm, Goetheborg and Malme.
